It's like "It's not your father's Oldsmobile" version 2.0.
We get it Buick, you're hip and cool now.
And yes I, a person under 50, want a Regal GS, but do we have to advertise like this?
We'll conclude this mini rant with some hot Regals.

"That's not a Buick!"
You're right. It's a Vauxhall.

I know, right? You'd think GM would have learned, considering that "Not Your Father's Oldsmobile" is now a cautionary case study in many college marketing textbooks.
That said, maybe they did learn and are doing it more carefully this time, because Buick's sales have actually been pretty healthy lately.
Of course, the fact that Buick has decent products right now, and late 1980s Oldsmobile didn't, probably has something to do with it.

All extremely valid point.
I didn't know that campaign was used as a case study in marketing.

I know we covered it probably 8-9 years ago. Alienated Oldsmobile's loyal customers and reminded potential new customers of why they didn't like the brand to begin with, so just an all-around failure. Very awkward tagline too - "This Is Not Your Father's Oldsmobile, This Is The New Generation of Olds" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.
